Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA for public pages and the editorial Desk, with known gaps listed below. This is a statement of intent, not a certification.
What is implemented
- Every page declares
lang="en-GB". - Every page has a keyboard skip link to the main content.
- Visible
:focus-visibleoutlines. - Form controls have explicit labels; search has a labelled typeahead list.
- Result and event lists use readable headings and text, not colour alone.
- The map has an accessible name and a text list of the same areas and events.
- Images use stored alt text and native lazy loading.
- No autoplay, no carousel, no third-party tracking script.
Known gaps
- No formal audit with assistive technology yet.
- No automated axe/Lighthouse gate in CI.
- The SVG map is not a fully keyboard-navigable geographic control.
- Desk tables and dense filters have not been tested with screen readers.
- No high-contrast theme switch.
- No captions/transcripts because no audio or video is published yet.
- Contrast is checked by review, not by an automated token test.
Report a barrier
Use the public complaint route or contact the editorial desk. Include the page URL, the browser, and the assistive technology you used. Reports are handled as editorial complaints, not marketing feedback.
